Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Based in Lancaster, PA with remote flexibility considered for exceptional candidates with strong direct and recent workers' compensation defense experience, we are a multidisciplinary law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The Workers' Compensation defense team is expanding and seeking an experienced Defense Attorney to join a growing team handling sophisticated Pennsylvania workers' compensation matters. This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator who values substantive hearing work client advisory responsibilities and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment. This position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000–$160,000

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation including pleadings discovery depositions hearings and appeals while preparing and presenting cases before Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Judges with accuracy and efficiency
  • Draft persuasive motions briefs and settlement evaluations while providing strategic legal analysis and case evaluations to employers insurers and third-party administrators
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates recommendations and risk assessments while collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management
  • Independently manage an active workers' compensation defense caseload while traveling locally to hearings and depositions as required; overnight travel not regularly expected

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school with active Pennsylvania Bar admission in good standing required
  • 3+ years of direct Pennsylvania workers' compensation defense experience with demonstrated ability to independently handle all aspects of the workers' compensation litigation process
  • Strong organizational communication and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 ProLaw Excel and e-document management software preferred with strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
